Koninklijke van Kempen & Begeer was founded in 1789, and has always concentrated on developing products that offered solutions for modern man and his times. The period we live in is marked by a fast-changing way of life, constantly shifting consumer patterns and very varied life styles.

Kitchens accumulate tools. Countless knives, each even more practical than the last. Funny but impractical can openers. We never seem to have enough forks and spoons. Nearly all kitchens are like this. Amidst the clutter, everyone can still find his or her favourite knife or spatula. We sort our tools without even noticing. How has this come to be? Studies show that we choose what to replace once we are in the shop. What we already had will be set aside. If the new item is not adequate, we will fall back on the old, trusted one.
